National Supported Internship Day

BASE members know that Supported Internships can have a huge positive impact for the interns and for wider society, which is why we're delighted to be involved in the first National Supported Internship Day (NSID) taking place on 27th March 2023.

Currently only 4.8% of people in England with a learning disability and/or autism go on to secure paid employment which is why our Internships Work partner DFN Project SEARCH has launched the #NationalSupportedInternshipDay to raise awareness of the many benefits that a supported internship can bring.

We know that many of our members are doing fantastic work creating & delivering supported internships placements.

Like BASE member Blueberry Academy  who is working with The Family Fund to provide supported internships in the Grants Delivery, Finance, Audit and Compliance, Partnership, Public Affairs and Family Outcomes & Communications areas.

How can BASE members get involved with #NationalSupportedInternshipDay ?

DFN Project Search have produced a media pack with a some background information and social media templates (see below).

BASE would love to use #NSID2023 to highlight the great partnership work that members are doing with supported internships, so we'd love you to either post on social media on the day, use the hashtags &  tag BASE in your post or email your stories and pics before the 27th March and we'll share them for you.
