WoodMor Foundation seeks help in supporting employability
BASE member, Matt Wood of Millwood Servicing, has formed the WoodMor Foundation to support disadvantaged people to prepare for employment. The foundation aims to increase the opportunities of employment for disabled, vulnerable or disadvantaged people aged 25 and above. To do this, they will provide an individual with an event, expedition or specialist skills training programme that aims to develop their confidence and employability.
This journey will be showcased digitally by a 90 second animated, digital CV that demonstrates those hidden characteristics that make us all unique. This can be kept, shared and used to impress potential employers!
Matt is seeking support from members that can help them support their staff at Millwood or their "WoodMorers" who might have a recognised disability. You can contact Matt at Matthew.Wood@TheWoodmorFoundation.co.uk
Matt and Gill Haran are organising a charitable Kilimanjaro trek to support BASE and you can find details of how you can support it at www.base-uk.org/kilimanjaro
Matt has also launched a Zero2Hero apprenticeship scheme that will provide a fully interactive, industry-lead and recognised scheme to qualify an individual who is willing to commit to become a fire safety engineer. He has committed to offering a number of apprenticeship roles based on the company's income from awarded contracts.
