EUSE 2019 conference a success

The 13th EUSE conference was held in Amsterdam last week. EUSE, the European Union of Supported Employment, is the umbrella body for 21 national European associations and has held a biennial conference since 1993.

Over 540 delegates attended from across Europe and the rest of the world to attend a wide range of workshops and to discuss the issues affecting our sector. It was announced that ther next EUSE conference will be held in Oslo in May 2022, a year later than usual because the second World Conference takes place in Vancouver in June 2021.

BASE Chief Executive, Huw Davies, was elected as one of the four Vice-Presidents of EUSE for 2019-2021. He joins the President, Luc Henau (Belgium), and Vice-Presidents, Edyth Dunlop (Northern Ireland), Markus Neuherz (Austria) and Andrea Seeger (Germany) on the EUSE Board.

"I'm delighted to have been elected and look forward to working with EUSE colleagues to give Supported Employment a more visible presence across Europe and the rest of the world. We've already had some very constructive dialogue with other European stakeholders and the introduction of the World Conferences gives practitioners an opportunity to share the wealth of knowledge and experience that exists globally."
