Economic Evidence Around Employment Support
This report, produced by the National Development Team for Inclusion (NDTi) for the School for Social Care Research (SSCR), summarises the economic evidence around employment supports for disabled people (including those with mental health problems).
The report is the first step in more detailed work to help ensure that local authority and NHS commissioners use the available evidence when developing and funding employment support services. NDTi reviewed all existing evidence about the economic effectiveness of services designed to support people with disabilities and mental health problems into paid work and/or retain paid employment. This shows that whilst there is some clear evidence that commissioners should follow, there are also substantial gaps.
