A fascinating insight into the the challenge of co-production between parents and the 'professionals'. Parent carer forums were recently involved in SEND pathfinder projects and this qualitative research report reflects the varying experiences of the forums. 1) Planning together: peer support and self-directed support. This report shows how it is possible to build disabled people and carers' own support planning skills, rather than relying solely on professional solutions. It includes examples of how councils have worked in partnership with local people using services, user led and voluntary organisations, to transfer planning skills to other people using services. 2) Support planning and brokerage for older people and people with mental health difficulties.
