The Foundation for People with a Learning Disability has produced an employers guide to employing people with a learning disability. The guide, produced in conjunction with Keith Bates and Sixteen, offers tips and case studies featuring the work of a range of large employers.

Accompanying it is a short guide to working with job coaches.

This short paper, from the IPPR  considers whether the additional support that is provided to children and young people with learning disabilities helps them properly prepare for adulthood, and considers how it might have to change to better achieve this.

A new plan has been launched to help support people with learning disabilities.

There are 26,349 people with learning disabilities in Scotland with only 7%  employed and 6.2% in further education.

The Keys to Life framework, launched by the Scottish Government and council umbrella body Cosla, sets out plans to inform more employers about available help, such as a job coach or supported employment.
