The report from the Children's Commissioner for Wales highlights many issues young people face as they become adults and points out the limited choices and funding available. Transition services, where they exist, vary greatly across Wales and frequently fail because they do not place young people at the centre of the planning process. Being able to make the right choices depends on the availability of the right information and too often this simply doesn't exist.

When given the right supports and training, a new study from USA suggests that nearly all young people with autism who qualify for supported employment can learn to excel on the job.

9 out of 10 transition-age youths with autism who participated in an intensive job training program were working part-time earning at least minimum wage three months after graduating high school. What’s more, 87% were still working after 12 months.
