Only 6% of people leaving prison receive support to find competitive work. Funded by J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust, The Henry Smith Charity, and Garfield Weston Foundation, this project worked with prison leavers from eight West Midland prisons.

This project trialled Individual Placement and Support (IPS) with a population it had not been tested on before: people with mental health problems leaving prison.

Exploring the funding and support for apprentices with additional support needs  was commissioned by DfE and carried out by the Learning and Work Institute. It details the findings from interviews with apprenticeship providers, employers and third party organisations. This report identifies areas to consider in the future development of apprenticeships funding policy.

The Department for Education has published a research report that evaluates the Traineeships programme.

The evaluation explored the views and experiences of:

•   Year Two Survey of Trainees: 2,153 trainees who commenced a traineeship programme between August 2014 and July 2015.

•   Trainee’s Follow Up Survey: 416 trainees who were interviewed as part of the Year One evaluation programme and then interviewed again between 18-30 months after the traineeship (December 2015 and January 2016).

This study, published by EASPD, assesses the literature review of cost-benefit analyses from a taxpayer perspective of the labour market inclusion of persons with disabilities. It includes an extensive and structured overview of global literature over the last 30 years.
