Skills for Employability and Independence Ltd

The Oaks Specialist College was established due to an acute need in our community for a provider of education and training to young people aged between 18-25 with learning difficulties and disabilities. Our aim is to provide programs of physical, educational and professional activities as a means of advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities and so enabling them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals.

We provide meaningful timetables which are tailored to different abilities and levels of capacity, these timetables include increasing qualifications, expanding employability skills and knowledge, experiencing and exploring healthy living and community inclusion. It is headed up by a core of imaginaries with many years of experience within special education and a devotion to provide more. These are supported by a dedicated and professional group pf staff and a full and diverse board of trustees.

The college started with just 10 learners in August 2018 and reached almost 100 in September 2021. This demonstrates the incredibly vital role that we are now playing.
