Ilkley Community Enterprise Ltd

Ilkley Community Enterprise (ICE) Ltd is a charity and social enterprise that is dedicated to promoting and supporting social inclusion particularly for people with a learning disability. We work with young people and adults who have learning disabilities to enable them to lead more independent and fulfilled lives, develop skills, confidence and self-esteem and to strengthen their social and community connections.

ICE Ltd runs Outside the Box, a community café that provides people who have learning disabilities (our members), with work experience, training and individually tailored support to develop their confidence, social and life-skills and work towards achieving their goals and aspirations. We also run OTB Choices providing members with a range of opportunities, including workshops, courses and events, to express themselves creatively, learn new skills and to lead more independent, healthy and socially connected lives.  

OTB Works is designed to support people with learning disabilities (our members) who wish to gain employment to access and sustain paid work with employers in their local community. The project provides participants with the confidence, skills and access to suitable job opportunities that they want and deserve.  The project was designed with dual objectives: i) to engage and support employers to effectively generate suitable work opportunities for our members who were ‘work ready’ and ii) to deliver tailored support to prepare members for work and progress them into a range of work opportunities.
