Halton People into Jobs

Halton People into Jobs offer support for unemployed residents who might benefit from help in looking for work.  The service is currently providing information, advice and support for local people through a range of programmes that include the Work and Health Programme, Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS), Kickstart, Restart, Ways to Work Programme and the Supported Internship Programme.  This can include help with job searches, CVs, applications, interview preparation and access to funding to start work, where applicable, and is tailored to meet the needs of the individual.

The service also offers a bespoke job matching service for individuals looking for work and employers seeking new employees and is able to match participants to a range of opportunities to help them move closer to work.

Through the Ways to Work Programme, Halton People into Jobs offers support for unemployed residents aged 16 and above to access 6-12 month paid work placements as part of the Intermediate Labour (ILM) provision.

Supported Internships are offered for young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care plan.  The study programme is based primarily with an employer and offers the opportunity for the young person to learn the skills they need for work through learning in a work placement and includes study for English, maths and relevant qualifications.  Supported Internships are unpaid and usually last 6-12 months.  Wherever possible they support the young person to move into paid employment at the end of the programme.
