Down's Syndrome Association
The Down's Syndrome Association supports people with Down's syndrome throughout their lives.
Since our formation in 1970, we have developed into a highly regarded national charity with over 20,000 members and 111 regional volunteer support groups.
We are often the first point of contact for new parents of a baby with Down's syndrome looking for information and advice, and remain a valued source of support to families as their child grows and develops.
We provide information and support for people with Down's syndrome, their families and carers and the professionals who work for them.
WorkFit is a tailored service training employers about the learning profile and abilities of people who have Down's syndrome and is based on finding the right employment opportunities to match the interests and talents of the candidates we work with.
We develop meaningful, valuable and suitable opportunities with a focus on professional development and celebrating success that comes from effective training, confidence building and skills development.
We recognise paid work is not right for everyone. The employment solution may include;
- Work Experience
- Voluntary Work
- Apprenticeships
- Paid work
Whatever the preferred outcome, our specialist knowledge, support and training delivers successful and rewarding opportunities across a wide range of industry sectors.
