The North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) is launching a new network of Manchester employers on Tuesday 26 March. The ManchesterAbility network is designed to promote ideas, share best practice and develop an active forum where disability issues can be discussed openly and honestly and where solutions can be found to common problems. The launch is taking place at KPMG in Manchester from 10am – 2pm and will include lunch.

The Government has published a line manager's guide to employing people with a disability. It's been produced by the Disability Confident scheme in collaboration with CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development.

The guidance focuses on the role of the line manager in workplace adjustments, langauge and behaviour and sickness absence. It also provides guidance on recruiting, retaining and developing employees with a disability or health condition.

National Archives are seeking to recruit 8 trainees for participating archive sites. The Bridging the Digital Gap initiative is a Heritage Lottery funded training programme aimed at bringing technical people into the UK archives workforce. The 15-month placements start in October 2018 and offer a rewarding, practical alternative to the first year of university study.
