Level 3 Certificate for supported employment practitioners

Testimonial textWho is the course for?

The Certificate is suitable for job coaches and specialist employment support staff within Supported Employment services, providers of Work Choice, further education colleges, NHS Trusts and social enterprises. Learners must be supporting a jobseeker to secure employment and must have opportunities to demonstrate the required evidence through engagement with employers and jobseekers.

What does the course involve?

The course normally involves group sessions organised over 3 blocks of 2 days. We are delivering the training online using Zoom across 8 sessions while the Covid-19 restrictions are in place.

Participants will need to complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate how they have applied the underpinning knowledge and skills listed in the National Occupational Standards for Supported Employment. Many of the learning outcomes will require assessment in the workplace so all learners must be able to demonstrate their practice with jobseekers and employers. The group sessions will be delivered over a 6 month period though participants will have longer to complete their portfolios.

The course is organised around six individual units. You can find details of what they contain on the course specification attached below.

What will it cost?

The cost per learner is £1500+VAT. This covers all costs including learner registration, group sessions, individual tutorial, observed practice, assessment and verification, and certification. It does not include any travel or residential accommodation costs.

Where will the group sessions take place?

We can deliver a course wherever we have a minimum of 10 participants. The exact venues will depend on the location of the participants involved as we want to minimise the need for travel.

We have now started over 30 courses and are taking expressions of interest from other areas of the country. Future courses are listed on our training courses page but we anticpate further courses in London, the Midlands and North England this year.

Who delivers the course?

The courses are delivered either by Kathy Melling, Huw Davies or Liz Mellor. Each are experienced supported employment practitioners.

Other training providers are able to deliver these qualifications now. Actual delivery models will be determined by the organisations delivering the qualifications and could vary considerably.
