About the Disability Sub Group
The Disability Sub Group is part of the Youth Employment Group and exists to:
- Set the agenda by identifying and raising the barriers faced by disabled and neurodivergent young people
- Share tools and best practice that support inclusive employment
- Drive change by influencing policy, research and delivery
BASE supports the coordination of the group, but the agenda is collectively shaped and led by members. What the meeting will cover - Reflections on the change we want to see for disabled and neurodivergent young people
- The legacy of supported internships – what has worked, what gaps remain and barriers to access
- Discussion on SEND reform, strengthening transitions and avoiding the “cliff edge”
- Updates on Connect to Work and the Youth Guarantee
- How the group stays connected and continues to grow its impact
Who should attend? - Anyone who works with disabled and neurodivergent young people
- Advocacy organisations for disabled and neurodivergent young people
- Disabled and neurodivergent young people’s user-led organisations
We are keen to widen participation in the Disability Sub-Group. For smaller organisations who would like to be involved in this group, but capacity is an issue, please contact us to discuss how we could financially support you.
