Small Charities Commission event for Kickstart intermediaries

The Small Charities Commisison has announced a webinar to discuss the role of charities as intermediary organisations within the Kickstart scheme.

The Government has announced details of the Kickstart scheme, which calls for organisations to create 6-month work placements for 16-24 year olds in new roles.

Employers must commit to being able to offer 30 placements over the life of the scheme. Employers looking at smaller numbers must join partnerships or work with intermediary organisations. Government has confirmed that charities can act as intermediaries.

SCC are holding this meeting to explore if a collective response from the Small Charities Coalition acting as a representative body would be viable.

SCC has also been in discussion with other sector bodies, and this meeting is open to anyone working or volunteering for any charity, regardless of size.

This is an exploratory meeting to share information and assess the level of interest and potential take up and concerns of charities and good causes.
