Mencap seeks apprenticeship case studies

Mencap is currently in the process of finalising a report based on a series of workshops on apprenticeships that was held earlier this year and is seeking case studies to illustrate the report and highlight the difficulties people face.

They are looking for case studies about people who fit all of the criteria below:

  • People with a learning disability, who don’t have an EHC plan/ legacy statement
  • People who don’t have level 1 English and/ or maths, and therefore would need access to the flexibilities regarding English and maths to do an apprenticeship
  • People who would otherwise be able to do an apprenticeship at Level 2 or even 3, were it not for the English/ maths requirements and actually would like to take this route – and which you may have turned away as a result

They are able to help write up the case studies or members may have suitable case studies already prepared.

If you can help, please contact Beatrice Barleon at beatrice.barleon@mencap.org.uk. The case studies will be needed by 15 May.
