South Essex College

South Essex College is a further education college that provides a positive learning experience across the Essex side of the Thames Gateway. Within our provision we offer an excellent Supported Internship programme for young people aged 16-24, however we primarily focus on learners aged 19+ whose natural route is employment. Our aim is to provide our learners with an opportunity to achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace with the support of a Job Coach.

Due to the size of the college we mainly focus our Supported Internships through our internal progression routes. We are however, piloting with two local special schools and an adult community college in opening up this great provision to wider learners across the Thames Gateway. The learners must have an EHCP in order to apply for the programme.
