The Hub Yeovil

The Hub Yeovil

Through a framework of micro-enterprise and community projects The Hub supports the development of work and life skills for our service-users, known as trainees - young people and adults with learning difficulties, disabilities, social communication and mental health issues.

We offer a friendly, caring and encouraging environment focused around the world of work and social independence.

Our projects include: making our own re-manufactured products, from reusable waste materials, a shop, cafe, scrapstore, gardening and working in a warehouse! This allows us to provide varied opportunities and working environments for our trainees.

Our service is available to young people and adults from 14+ with a learning disability or difficulty. Our trainees are in receipt of direct payments and pay for a bespoke programme of skills training based on an assessment of their needs and the outcomes required.

We are commissioned by local schools and colleges to deliver vocational learning programmes. This is paid directly by referrers.

We provide support at all these key stages:

  • Through formal training / education by an providing excellent learning environment and using innovative teaching methods.
  • Through entry to the work place by providing access to 'live' businesses and providing practical incubation support for people to set up their own ventures.
  • Through strong professional advice, support and guidance towards greater independence including accomodation and relationships.
