The Growth Company
The Growth Company is a not for profit organisation. Our purpose is to Enable Growth, Create Jobs, and Improve Lives.
We deliver services that help people and businesses achieve their potential. This includes vocational rehabilitation and employment support services that enable people with multiple, complex needs to find, secure and progress in meaningful work that pays.
The Growth Company is a:
- Founding Partner of InWork GM – providing the devolved Working Well (Work and Health) programme in Greater Manchester
- Prime contractor for the Working Well Expansion programme in Greater Manchester and for the Liverpool City Region DWP/ESF Mental Health Support programme: Positive Directions
- Leading provider of work focused rehabilitation and integrated support services for drug and alcohol recovery
With roots in Greater Manchester, we now deliver services across:
- The North West – with delivery in the Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Regions and into Cheshire and Lancashire
- Yorkshire and the Humber – delivering specialist support services across the Sheffield City Region, and in Hull
As well as expanding geographically, because of the depth and breadth of our work with people with complex support needs, we are now a trusted and respected partner to local government in the reform of public services. We are for example:
- Capacity building local authority Troubled Families teams, to enable them to deliver more integrated, employment focused support to families
- Supporting GP referral pathways into our “work first” programmes
- Integrating employment support programmes with other local authority, health and community based support services, reducing duplication and ensuring services are targeted and sequenced at the right time and place
- Leading the development of a Key Worker Academy, to develop the specialist skills and competencies required across organisations to support people with complex health, disability and support needs
- Ensuring a demand side focus, delivering Careers Information Advice and Guidance including within the National Careers Service (NCS)
Across our services, we have developed a consistent approach to effectively support participants with complex needs. This includes:
- As a not for profit organisation with a strong social purpose, we work with volunteers to provide mentoring and peer to peer support
- Co-location with JCP to provide better access and support to participants from day one
- A high performing self-employment and business /social enterprise start up model
- Investment in an award winning social and ethical employment agency, Aspire, which focuses on rapid job placement and re-placement for participants in vulnerable sectors/occupations
- An embedded occupational health pathway that bridges the gap between health and work
We deliver a range of services each with their own eligibility criteria. In the main our services are for unemployed adults, including those who are in receipt of DWP benefits (ESA, JSA), those who are disabled and who have a health condition. The priority groups for many of our services have multiple, complex needs.
