A toolkit for supported self-employment has been produced by the European Union of Supported Employment (EUSE) and offers guidance in how to support people to start their own business through the method of supported employment. Nevertheless, there are some significant differences between both forms of support.

This toolkit has been produced by neurodivergent members of GMB staff in consultation with neurodivergent GMB members.

The aim of this document is to provide information and advice that can be used to help make workplaces more inclusive for neurodivergent workers.

For reasons of length, it does not contain a detailed introduction to individual neurodivergent conditions. Separate guidance notes are being produced (although the difficulties of generalising about neurodiversity should be stressed at all points).

This toolkit was created so that Enterprise Coordinators and Enterprise Advisers can better understand the career landscape for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The publishers worked with experts who support young people with SEND to explore what positive outcomes for young people with SEND look like, and what can be achieved by working in partnership and drawing on best practice from around the country.

BASE and SUSE conducted a survey about Access to Work in the summer of 2018. A total of 149 responses were received and this report summarise the feedback that we obtained.

The feedback was varied but many respondents found the process of applying for Access to Work and claiming costs to be difficult. Most respondents were claiming between £25 and £30 per hour for job coaching support.

Only 6% of people leaving prison receive support to find competitive work. Funded by J Paul Getty Jnr Charitable Trust, The Henry Smith Charity, and Garfield Weston Foundation, this project worked with prison leavers from eight West Midland prisons.

This project trialled Individual Placement and Support (IPS) with a population it had not been tested on before: people with mental health problems leaving prison.

The report from the Children's Commissioner for Wales highlights many issues young people face as they become adults and points out the limited choices and funding available. Transition services, where they exist, vary greatly across Wales and frequently fail because they do not place young people at the centre of the planning process. Being able to make the right choices depends on the availability of the right information and too often this simply doesn't exist.

Social care provision and funding has been the subject of numerous reports, commissions and Government papers over many years. Despite agreement on the urgent need for reform, this has not translated into action or consensus on how it should be achieved.
