Job Coach (United Response)

Salary: £19,000 per annum plus £1,259 car allowance 
Post: 35 hours /week, 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Trafford, Greater Manchester


Are you experienced in working with individuals with autism? Do you have experience in pathways to employment services?  

We are currently recruiting a Job Coach for 35 hours a week at our Greater Manchester Supported Employment Service to work in the Trafford area on our new project Pathways to Employment. 

As a job coach you will be required to;

  • Support people with autism into paid employment, volunteering, work experience and to offer information, advice and guidance around the pathway towards work.
  • You will also be required to support people to develop on their career path when necessary. 
  • Ensure people we support are adequately skilled and informed to carry out their roles.
  • Be flexible and creative in supporting individuals to access open employment, identify and overcome barriers to employment that the people we support face. 
  • Ensure productive relations with all parties including employers, colleagues, parents and carers, and professionals.
  • You will be required to complete employer engagement taking necessary steps to assist in finding roles for the people we support.
  • Monitor performance of individuals to ensure progression; build appropriate and empowering relations with individuals; ensure an inclusive approach to all aspects of the role.
  • You will also be required to take a lead on overseeing and achieving the outcomes/targets you are set for the programme and gaining new referrals. 


About you

We are ideally looking to appoint someone with experience supporting people with autism within work but also with health and wellbeing advice and guidance, have a keen interest in making a difference and engaging with people, and someone who is patient, empathetic and a good communicator. 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Good computer literacy
  • Good self-management skills and a flexible approach. 
  • You will also have the ability to market individuals or services
  • have a good understanding of the supported employment process and good knowledge of local businesses/companies.
