Salary: £18,457.92 pro rata

We are a dynamic, caring and growing social enterprise based in Bristol. Our team of Job Coaches and Employment Support Workers supports people with a learning disability, autism or other disadvantages to find employment. 

We follow evidence based supported employment practices and processes to achieve the best results for the people we support. We believe everyone can work given the right support. 

Sixteen Co-operative is looking to expand its capacity in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas and to support more people into work. We are keen to find individuals who share our interest and enthusiasm for supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to find and keep jobs. 


The Role: 

This position would suit someone who has been an employment support worker, alternatively you may be someone who is looking for a career change. This job could bring you new challenges and different horizons. 

A day in the life of an employment support worker may start with you supporting someone to make breakfast in a café, you may then help to travel train a job seeker and you could end the day applying for jobs. 

Supporting people in work is extremely rewarding and we are looking for people who can rise to the challenges of this job. You need to be resourceful, confident, able to communicate well, happy to try new things, like to work independently when needed, confident with IT, an excellent team player and of course it helps if you have a sense of humour. 

This is not an office-based job, so you must enjoy meeting new people and learning new skills. The work will be carried out across the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas. 

Due to the depth and intensity of our work, commitment to both the job seeker and the employer is needed for this position. The tasks include a wide spectrum of activities with training and support from your supervisor: 

  • Discovery 
  • Vocational profiling 
  • Job searching 
  • On-job coaching 
  • Employer engagement 
  • Family liaising 
  • Interview support 
  • Retention support 
  • Delivery of training programmes (on-line and face to face) 
  • Access to work
