Job Summary:
PiP is a charity that empowers adults with learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism to achieve their ambitions, find and use their voice and live a life of their choice. Our employment pathway has been developed over the last 2 years, and successfully supports 30 plus of our students into work and vocational opportunities.
The Employment Co-ordinator will lead the direct delivery of our Employment and Training pathway by supporting students to progress into training, volunteering or employment that meets their ambitions. The postholder will be required to manage and support a varied caseload into employment by providing high quality group and 1:1 sessions, information, advice and guidance. The role will involve line management of development workers, learning support staff and potential employment coaches.
Role Requirements
Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group.
Track record of supporting people into opportunities such as employment, volunteering, training, or further education. Experience of working with private and voluntary sector partners to deliver employment opportunities.
Experience of leading or co-ordinating on projects including line management
Understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach
Experience of supporting employers to hire & manage adults with learning disabilities in an effective manner.
