Assistant Employment Support Workers (Surrey Choices)

Salary: £16,830 - £18,390 per annum (Full-time); £14,759 - £16,127 per annum (Term-time)
Post: Full-time, Term-Time only, 37.5 hours per week. The roles are fixed term for one year with the possibility of extension
Location: Countywide in Surrey: 3 posts based in Ashford, Guildford and Redhill

We have an exciting opportunity for Assistant Employment Support Specialists to join our Employability Team, Countywide. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to provide support and training to people with disabilities.

What we ask of you

As an Assistant Employment Support Specialist, you will:

  • Support customers on a 1:1 basis to take part in outcome-based activities and services that meet high standards relating to support and safety, building on our customers’ strengths, talents, knowledge, skills and experiences.
  • Work effectively in a team and in collaboration with our Employment Support Specialists to ensure the smooth-running of effective sessions and provision of high-quality services.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, their families and their support network.  This will include both verbal and written communication.
  • Take responsibility for own continuous professional development and maintaining an adequate level of knowledge and skills pertaining to the role.
  • Take all reasonable precautions to maintain the health and safety of self and others, ensuring that any risks in relation to this are reported and remedial action taken in a timely manner.
  • Comply at all times with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional and personal boundaries with all customers, parents & carers, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Actively support and promote Surrey Choices business objectives, operating model and core values.
  • Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required of this role and as requested by Manager(s).
