The Scottish Braille Press is part of the registered charity Sight Scotland, which is the operating name of The Royal Blind Asylum and School (SC017167), and a leading UK provider of high quality accessible media.

We provide supported employment opportunities for disabled people in particular those with a visual impairment. We are proud to be a Level 2: Disability Confident employer.

We’ve been producing accessible formats for over 125 years, providing people with sight loss with formats which enable equal access to the written word.

As a leading provider of accessible media for businesses and individuals, the Scottish Braille Press's transcription services offer visually impaired customers independence and security. We are committed to delivering a highly reliable, competitively priced service with the latest security standards in place.

We provide transcription into: Braille, Large Print and Audio

Our braille bookshop has a range of titles available.

We have representation on the Board of the UK Association for Accessible Formats (UKAAF) and are committed to promoting best practice in providing accessible formats thus ensuring quality standards are maintained.

We reinvest our profits to help fund Sight Scotland’s support for people adapting to sight loss.
