Sandwell Council

Sandwell Council is in the heart of the Black Country in the West Midlands and provides services to the residents of the six towns of Sandwell; these are West Bromwich, Oldbury, Tipton, Wednesbury, Rowley Regis and Smethwick.

Sandwell Council's Disability Employment team delivers a number of employment contracts for people with disabilities, mental health conditions and long term medical conditions. These include the DWP Work Choice programme in partnership with Advance for the Sandwell and Dudley areas and the DWP Specialist Employability Support programme in partnership with Shaw Trust for Birmingham, Black Country and Solihull.

In addition to the DWP contracts, the team also provides support to Sandwell residents with a mental health condition and learning disability, and a retention service for residents who are absent from work because of their mental health condition and need support to return to work.
